In 2021, I formed the 4-piece rock band 'Tangent' with Harrison Duddle, a close friend and guitarist/singer. The band was completed as we added our friends & musicians Caitlyn Wood on bass guitar and Daniel Batchelor on lead guitar.
I spent a vast amount of time in this band writing original songs (both alone and collaboratively) and a learning range of cover songs. Within the band, my main role in live performances was drums. However, I also played various keyboard instruments - often switching between songs - as well as occasionally singing backing vocals during songs.
We performed our music in many live gig situations and also various studio scenarios, this including multiple local gigs and festivals. We rehearsed regularly, using facilities in our sixth form and hiring rehearsal studios.
I also took on a management role for this band, overseeing our touring equipment and setups, and liasing with venues & events where we would perform.

Yellow Walls
I brought an earlier form of this song to the band, with minimal lyrics and melodic content. Myself and Harrison Duddle - lead singer/rhythm guitar - rewrote the melody and added new lyrics to the song. I then worked with Daniel Batchelor to create a more suitable lead guitar part. The chords and rhythm section are unchanged from my original version of the song.

One Last Time Demo.mp3This song was written entirely by myself, before I took it to the band for us to learn. I wanted to explore the theme of 'moving on', which I achieved through the lyrics and through a matuculous use of the instrumentation throughout the music.
We recorded this demo at a rehearsal in August 2022.
