After the success of our previous concert at our local Charlestown Church, we were keen to do this again. In October of 2019, Aaron begun organising a Christmas concert for December of the same year. This time, there was a lot more planning involved, as we had grown into a more professional group of musicians. Again, we donated half of the profits to Cystic Fibrosis trust.
The setlist for this concert lasted over an hour. With a smaller number of solo performances and a heavy emphasis on the original music, there was a lot more music at this concert. The performance saw 4 original songs, some of which had never been heard before, as well as a cover of the popular Christmas song 'War is Over', originally by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. We also chose to perform a selection of traditional Christmas carols, which we believe made the performance feel more festive.
Christmas 2019 also saw the debut of our song 'Christmas Joy'. We worked hard over the months leading up to Christmas to produce a bright, upbeat Christmas song that we enjoy performing. With bouncy melodies and a memorable pop-inspired song structure, blended with a grand string pad and some familiarly festive sleigh bells, we hope that this song, written by Aaron, will live on for many Christmas concerts to come...
This song was performed at the 'Live at Charlestown Church' concert and also at both nights of the West Hill School Carol Concert at Holy Trinity Church. With outstanding praise and support from all of the audiences, this song is one of my personal favourites.
The 'Live at Charlestown Church' concert also saw the recordings of some live tracks, which were later released as 'The Live Demos' across all streaming services. These demos were our first ever official recordings, which we were keen to share. Whilst many bands are keen to record in a studio, we believe that our music most suited live concerts at the time.
